Late for an Appointment
Pediatrics is a business of sudden illness or problems occurring with our children. Over 60% of office visits are same-day appointments. We certainly understand that unavoidable delays occur in arriving on time for your appointment. Unfortunately, we also become delayed due to unforeseen problems with patients or when a family requires extra time for an appointment. This places us in a position of not being able to see you at an appointed time. However, we make every attempt to insure patients are seen on time and in the order of their arrival. In many cases we may ask a family to see another physician who might have the ability to see you sooner.
When someone arrives over 20 minutes late for an appointment, it place a burden on the entire staff and those waiting, as the appointment timetable is skewed. We will make every attempt to work you into our schedule as soon as possible, but we ask that you understand that those with scheduled appointments will be seen first. Please feel free to ask for another time during the day and return if the wait looks like it may be longer than an hour. We do make a commitment to see you the same day as soon as we can possibly fit you into our schedule.
