We are committed to providing excellent medical care at a reasonable price. Our staff will be willing to discuss any questions you have regarding our financial policy. We request that you pay for medical services at the time of your visit. If necessary, a monthly payment program may be arranged. Please call our billing office for assistance (919-488.0015 ext 1026). Also, we do accept MasterCard and Visa as a courtesy to our patients.
An adult or legal guardian must accompany all minors to their office visit. The adult or legal guardian accompanying the minor assumes all financial responsibility for the cost of the minor’s visit, including situations involving a divorce or separation, regardless of a court order. We will provide a receipt for proof of services.
We require patients to provide a copy of their insurance card(s) at check-in for every visit. All payments, co-payments, co-insurances, and deductible amounts (when applicable) are required at the time of check-in
Insurance coverage is between a member and their insurance company. It is your responsibility to fully understand the details of your policies and to verify that we are “in network.” Furthermore, you are responsible for notifying our staff of any changes in your insurance coverage during check-in. Failure to do so may result in charges that you will be responsible for paying.
Prior to your visit, our staff will verify your insurance benefits. We will need your insurance information prior to your visit in order to do, this. If we are unable to verify your insurance information, you will be asked to pay in full for your visit, or you may choose to reschedule your visit until we can verify the information.
We have agreements with most insurance carriers and will bill them directly for services provided in our office. For those insurance carriers for which we do not have provider agreements, it is your responsibility to pay for services provided at the time of your visit and submit your claim for reimbursement. We will provide you with a “super bill” (itemized bill for that day’s service) at each office visit. This bill can be attached to your own insurance on so claims can be filed with minimal difficulty.
If the insurance company has not processed and paid for your insurance claim within go days, the payment will become your responsibility.
Applications & Forms
In order to expedite your visit and lessen your waiting time, you may want to check over the forms listed on our website and complete those relevant to your child before you visit a Growing Child Pediatrics office.
We understand that from time to time you may need to cancel an appointment. Please call ASAP if you need to cancel. Be prepared to reschedule the missed appointment with the Call Center. If you do not give us a 24-hour notice, you may be charged a $25 fee. After four cancellations and if Growing Child Pediatrics feels that the patient care is suffering, we may recommend alternative care that is more suited to your needs and availability.
We understand that there may occasionally be extenuating circumstances that prohibit you from making a scheduled appointment. If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment, we reserve the right to charge a $25 fee. If you have more than three no shows and a Growing Child Pediatric provider feels that patient care is suffering, we may recommend alternative care that is more suited to your needs and availability. If you no show for an appointment and there are extenuating circumstances, please call us so we can handle the situation appropriately.
We understand that from time to time extenuating circumstances arise and you may be late for a scheduled appointment. If you are 20 minutes late, your appointment will be considered a no show. Late sick appointments may be rescheduled as a walk-in and the patient will be called back according to the provider’s schedule. Late well check-ups may be rescheduled for another date unless there is an available appointment for a later time or there is availability.

- Labor Day
- Day after Thanksgiving (Urgent Care open 8a-3p)
- Christmas Eve (close at 12:30pm)

Outgoing medical records are outsourced to a third party vendor, HealthPort. Health port charges a fee for you to obtain a copy of your child’s entire medical record or have the record sent to another doctor’s office. Please note that there is not a charge for a copy of children’s immunization records.
Nurse Advice Line
The nurse line is available as a courtesy of Growing Child Pediatrics during normal business hours and our Urgent Care hours. If you have questions during normal business hours, call the office you normally visit and leave a detailed message. The triage nurse will call you back in the order it was received. Outside of normal business hours our answering service will take your call and forward it to WakeMed Nurse Advice Line. WakeMed nurses will triage the call and, if necessary, contact the provider on call.
For medication refills, call the office and leave a message on the refill line. Please leave your child’s name, child’s date of birth, contact number, pharmacy name, pharmacy number and medication being requested. Please call in your request before the prescription runs out. Refills may take up to 48 hours to be processed. Controlled substance prescriptions must be called in monthly and will need to be picked up at our office.
Many schools, sports, and camps require medical forms to be filled out by physicians. This is a free courtesy of Growing Child Pediatrics. A physical is required for filling out most forms. If your child requires a physical, please bring appropriate paperwork at time of your visit. Please note that a sports physical is valid for one year, and forms can be dropped off to be completed. Please make sure that you fill out any parent section of the form first and sign, if applicable. Physicians will not fill out their section until this is complete. Please allow at least 72 hours for completed forms. There is a charge for forms such as FMLA and adoption forms.
All appointments are made through the Call Center. Spanish phone options are available as well. Federal Government has mandated certain questions be asked. Please be patient and make sure you have all the necessary documentation available.
