
Jessie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has a passion for serving children and adolescents. She engages the entire family to help them function at their best as a unit. In her work, she uses a variety of interventions including talk-therapy and play therapy. Jessie understands that all children are different in how they learn, grow and develop.
Throughout her 12-year career, she has worked with people in a variety of settings such as: schools, non-profit agencies, public and private institutions. In addition, she has served in many roles, which include: counselor, supervisor, mentor, trainer, consultant, educator, advocate and mother.
Jessie completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She completed her first Master's degree at The University of Denver in Higher Education and Student Development. She later completed a Master's degree at San Diego State University in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and Multicultural competence. Jessie has been working with families in North Carolina since 2007. In addition to her work at Growing Child Pediatrics, she has a part-time psychotherapy practice in Durham where she lives with her son and cat Zoey.
