Dr. Capps graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1996 with a degree in history and received her medical degree from the University of Florida in 2001. She then returned to Vanderbilt for her pediatric residency program which she completed in 2004. She lives in Clayton with her husband, Michael Capps, an internal Medicine and pediatric physician. In 2005, the Capps welcomed their first son, William, and they are currently expecting a daughter in May, 2007
